Cluster goes Ö1: "Betrifft:Geschichte" on polyglot research

In June 2024, the Times-cluster produced a programme together with Barbara Volfing for the Ö1 format "Betrifft:Geschichte" (concerning history). In five episodes, Bernhard Bauer, Hanna Blum, Agnes Grond and Philipp Hofeneder presented their research on multilingualism in the academic field. Their contributions covered a wide range of time periods and addressed multilingualism in the transfer of knowledge in early medieval monasteries, Kurdish madrasas, the Russian Tsarist Empire and the GDR. They demonstrated that multilingualism can act as a catalyst for the creation and dissemination of knowledge.

The five episodes were broadcast live on Ö1 from 15:55 to 16:00 during the week of the 22nd to the 26th of July 2025 and were subsequently made available as podcasts.
