Multilingualism in (high) school educational spaces. Linguistic-critical perspectives

The ‘Spaces of Multilingualism, Migration and Cultural Transformation’ cluster organised an interdisciplinary symposium as part of the Future Education conference in Graz. Dr Yasemin Uçan from the University of Cologne was invited as a panellist, while Dr Raquel Pacheco Aguilar (ITAT), Marie Tschurtschenthaler BA Bed. MA (ITAT), Dr Jakob Wiedner and Chiara Wagner (Treffpunkt Sprachen), Iryna Orlova MU MA and MMag.a Michaela Winkler (Department of Slavic Studies) took part in the event on behalf of the University of Graz. The various contributions to the symposium dealt with multilingualism in (high) school educational spaces, addressed issues of differentiated and social power relations, and explored the potential of multilingualism in classroom discourse and communication with parents.
